A sweet coffee house (it's literally a house) with a distinct college town vibe and vitality.
That's what I'm getting. Let's compare to the label description (from Counter Culture website). "Nutty, caramel, and chocolate flavors." It is further described as being "clean and low acidity." I'm gonna disagree on the acidity. I don't consider that a bad quality, but it was pretty out front in my tasting. I thought maybe I'm confusing acidic and bitter, but I don't think so and it contributed, I think, to my geting that citusy tone. I'm still not gtting caramel - I've made caramel at home so I know what it smells and tastes like, but maybe I need a refresher.
Coffee shops should be lively busy places with a good mix of grab and go customers and people just hanging out. I like the vibe here, very cozy, reminds me a little of Peekskill Coffee House, down to the Belgian waffle aromas from the "kitchen."
Looks like a real college crowd here, but a mix of young and old so I don't feel out of place. Nice alternative music channel playing at a good volume.
Lots of indoor and outdoor space including a couple of parlors on the second floor.
About 13 minutes off the highway (I-81). I would go out of my way again to visit.
