Traveling through West Virginia from south to north. Beautiful country. In Morgantown found this coffee roaster and shop.
Tasty americano to start. Nutty, dark chocolate, somthing vaguely fruity. slightly acidic, more pronounced as it cools to room temp. Syrupy as well, I believe, is the taste or texture I'm getting. What the label says: "Rich, chocolate, citrus." I didn't see the notes until I had finished the coffee. I'm a little off my routine today.
Skipping seconds today as I've already had my fill of coffe for the morning. They have their own roastery, of course, as the name suggests. On a different day I would try the pour over, but based on the americano I feel confident that it would be a good cup. Interesting variation on the biscotti- they are "soft, " as in not crunchy, but dense, almondy, and a nice sort of chewy - like they were made with almond paste maybe.
Not much on ambiance. It's a newish shopping center style row building, sparse and utilitarian, clean sleek walls, tables, seating. Almost Spartan or sterile.
Al in all a great cup of coffee and a variety of house roasted beans. It is about 12 minutes off the highway though if that's a concern. Enjoy.
